I have a DBF where the text fields are formatted in utf-8. When I run "alter table....", the content is changed and no longer proper utf-8. How should I set AdsQuery1.AdsTableOptions.AdsCharType to make it work ?

Delphi XE4 and ADS 11.10, 32 bit.

It sounds like you are using a character field. Is this correct?

I would recommend using the Unicode field types such as nchar, nvarchar or nmemo. You can still stick with the DBF format but you will need to use the VFP table type rather than the CDX table type.

DBF format is fixed (part of a SHP file), not something I can change. It is a normal character field, except the content is utf-8.
