There are several improvements in he server itself he could benefit from. But as always: it depends ...
If there's a lot of server processing involved in your application (e.g. stored procedures, triggers, SQL queries, ...) then it should give him a better performance. If most is ISAM related (direct table access), he won't see that much improvement.
I'd suggest to get a demo license and test it with real data and real applications.

Thanks, it is mostly ISAM and SQL queries.
