Startup Parameters for Windows NT/2000/2003

Advantage Database Server

Startup parameters can also be used to change Advantage configuration settings. If startup parameters are specified, they take precedence over Advantage configuration settings in the Windows NT/2000/2003 Registry. Note that not all Advantage configurable values may be changed via Startup Parameters. With Windows NT 4.0, startup parameters can be specified in the Startup Parameters box located in the Service Control Manager. With Windows NT/2000/2003, startup parameters can be specified by clicking the Properties button in the Service Control Manager, and using the "Start parameters" edit box.

The following are valid startup parameters:

-C Number of Connections

-D Number of Tables

-F Disable Failed Transaction Cleanup

-I Number of Index Files

-L Number of Data Locks

-T Number of Worker Threads

-W Number of Work Areas
